Soccer, a passion that change lives

Carlos Alberto Arias lives in the Commune 8 of Ibague. He is the youngest of three siblings and therefore, he is his mother´s focus of attention, a humble woman that works cleaning family houses to be able to provide an education to her children. This young boy, along with his sisters, takes turns doing house chores and he also works at the town market selling plantains with the purpose to help his mother with home expenses. However, the little time he has left he dedicates it to his passion: soccer.

For the past 10 months he has been attending the Soccer Sports Training School where he has stood out due to his good education in all senses. “He knows and handles the meaning of Fair Play in every sports event to which we assists”, says Eduard Moreno, teacher in Ibague. His commitment and dedication with this sport favored the improvement of his focus and discipline in everyday activities.

His mother, who currently thanks the Foundation for the opportunity her son has been given, says that her child had academic difficulties last year and since he spends his free time doing sports, she has been surprised by the results he has shown at school, something that makes her very happy.

For the collaborators of the Foundation, these stories are the incentive to continue working on a formula that delivers thousands of smiles.
