The joy of a new beginning

Faber Garcia or “Rodallega”, as many know him in his neighborhood, is a good example of the great results achieved by the Formula Smiles Foundation due to his similarity when he plays soccer to Colombia´s professional top goal scorer. This young boy has been a fundamental part of the program The Best Formula Villa Lorena that has been functioning since February of 2005 in Villavicencio.
Up until his 13th birthday, Faber was known among his partners as an aggressive child with discipline problems in school and rebellious with his parents; experiences that left him full of memories of pain and suffering.

During the past two years Formula Smiles has witnessed his change and personal growth; a rebirth of a person that one again believes in the marvels of life. Now, at 15 years of age, he is a more conscious and calmed boy. He currently lives with and keeps a good relation with his father, his mother-in-law and his brothers; a humble family that since the beginning of the project has been benefited by the Foundation.

Since he was a small child, his passion was soccer and, because to his ability to handle the ball and score incredible goals, he earned the affectionate nickname of “Rodallega”. Besides, as time has passed, Faber has been developing remarkable abilities for gymnastics, which he has been practicing and improving at the Gymnastics Sports practices at the Foundation.

Due to his respect, responsibility and leadership he has now become a course supervisor and an important leader among the neighborhood community. These achievements have led him to give his best efforts everyday, in order to become a role model for younger kids through his behavior inside and outside the field.
Faber hopes to be able to accomplish his dream of being a physical education teacher, driven by his leadership, his passion for the sports culture and his vocation for teaching. Another example of how the Formula Smiles Foundation changes the life of young people through its sports banner.
