PANAMA HOSTED FORMULA LATINA

Last August 26, on a warm night in Panama, 300 people answered the call Formula Smiles made in benefit of Colombian children.

Prompted by their humanitarian spirit, artists of international stature agreed to sing for the 4800 children of the foundation and attended the benefit concert organized by the Formula Smiles Foundation, led by the NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie Freydell.

The artists were Puerto Ricans Luis Fonsi, Master Chris, Zion and Lenox; Panamanians Gaitanes and Joey Montana; and Colombians Peter Manjarres, Sergio Luis Rodriguez, Danny Marin, Jerau, Gabielle and the master Beto Jamaica. They not only sang as a part of Formula Latina but also got to know many marvels of Panama, such as the Canal and the Park of Biodiversity. There was also time for Juan Pablo Montoya and Luis Fonsi to give the Cuna Indians a moment of happiness, given that thanks to the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) they had the opportunity to fly in a helicopter to the island of San Blas, where the Cuna community waited for them with dances and welcoming words.

The magical night of the concert was opened with a red carpet for the artists, businessmen of the city, and of course the hosts of the night - Connie Freydell and Juan Pablo Montoya. The evening started with the official live release of Formula Smiles Foundation’s song, created by the recognized producer Master Chris and interpreted by the Colombian singer Gabielle and reggaeton performers Zion & Lenox. Following this, the founders of Formula Smiles made a toast in recognition of the five years of work that the Foundation has done in the country. Later, the turn was for Panamanians Joey Montana and the Gaitanes brothers. The party came alive with the performance of Colombians Danny Marin and Jerau, who had two duet songs as a surprise for the public. The moment the attendees were waiting for came as Luis Fonsi performed an acoustic version of his hits, which added romanticism to the gala. After the Latin sensation, Zion & Lenox were in charge of continuing the party, which they did with their urban music. To close the evening, Latin Grammy-winning Colombian artist Peter Manjarrés as well as Sergio Luis Rodriguez took the stage, delighting the attendees with a spectacular show.
Formula Smiles would like to thank the artists for their commitment and dedication, as well as Copa Airlines, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Johnny Walker, ATP, DHD, La Prensa, who made it possible for Formula Latina 2009 to be a complete success.
With sports and music we take the children away from the war.
