Montoya received NASCAR in Colombia.
Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie Freydell received, for the first time in Colombia the most important NASCAR squad on March 10th and 11th.
The highest executives of NASCAR, the team Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and the summer camp “Victory Junction Gang” were in Colombian lands on Monday, March 10th, with the purpose of becoming familiar with the Project of the Formula Smiles Foundation and donate 25,000 dollars to it through the NASCAR Foundation.
“The NASCAR visit to Colombia is something very important to both Formula Smiles and the country” signaled Juan Pablo Montoya. “Being a part of the NASCAR community gives us the possibility or raising thousands of dollars that allow us to continue helping the neediest kids in Colombia, besides, this visit gives us the opportunity of showing them what we have been doing, as well as the reality in which these kids live and getting them to understand because we need all possible help” affirmed the Colombian pilot.
Formula Smiles is a non-profit organization that uses Sports as a tool to improve the quality of life of the neediest Colombian children. The Foundation provides the necessary equipment and teachers so that the children that live in the most depressed areas of the country have the opportunity of growing up in an environment surrounded by education, sports, and recreation. “We look to instill values in our children through physical activities with the purpose of making them better citizens and keep them away from drugs and violence” says Connie Montoya.
